The Pitmen played in the first charity match in support of Ukraine.
On Saturday, April 9, Shakhtar Donetsk played the first match as part of the Shakhtar Global Tour for Peace in Ukraine charity tour. The rival of the Ukrainian club is the Greek Olympiakos.
Pitmen head coach Roberto De Zerbi can rely exclusively on Ukrainian players who have previously been on the first team or played on Shakhtar’s youth team.
The only goal of the match was recorded midway through the first half, and Soares was the author of it. The Brazilian responded to his partner’s serve and hit the crossbar naked, but on the second attempt he sent the ball into the corner of Trubin’s goal with his head.
Shakhtar Donetsk had several chances to score, but failed to convert their chances.
