Nikita Korzun got into a loud scandal in the top division of the Belarusian football championship.
In Belarus, the consideration of a high-profile case on the participation in fixed matches of the top players of the local championship has ended.
According to the Belarusian Football Federation, the control and disciplinary committee of this organization made the following decisions:
Soligorsk Shakhtar was stripped of the championship in the 2022 season and fined 30 points in the 2023 season and 20 points in the 2024 season. The Energetik-BGU team was deprived of silver medals and lost 20 points in the current season and 10 in the next. Belshina will lose 10 points in the 2023 season and 5 in the 2024 season.
Also, the penalty was applied to individual representatives of the teams. In particular, Shakhtar midfielder and former Dynamo Kyiv player Nikita Korzun was suspended for one year and received a fine of 11,100 Belarusian rubles. Dynamo Brest midfielder Mikhail Gordeychuk, who also had to pay 18,500 Belarusian rubles, received the same term.
Recall that Korzun was in Dynamo Kyiv from 2016 to 2020. On the condition of the capital club he moved to Soligorsk Shakhtar.
