The Ukrainian almost does not get playing practice in the Madrid club and can go on loan
Former goalkeeper of Shakhtar and Mariupol Rustam Khudzhamov shared his opinion about Andrey Lunin and his future in Madrid Reale. He believes that Lunin can prove himself in any European club.
“It is up to him to decide. The only thing I can say is that a goalkeeper of this class must definitely play, must show himself. As someone who, for some reason, has not played for several years of his career, I will say that it is always better to play. Because later, looking back, you may regret those years,” Khudzhamov said.
“But, again, I can’t advise Andrei in any way, I don’t have such a right, especially without knowing the whole internal situation. But I am sure that a goalkeeper like Lunin can and, most importantly, should play in any club in Europe.
Earlier it was reported that Lunin wants to stay at Real Madrid for next season. However, the goalkeeper’s father and agent, Aleksey Lunin, prefers the option of leaving the Ukrainian on loan. A number of Spanish clubs are interested in Andrei’s services, including Villarreal, Elche and Espanyol, as well as English West Ham.
Lunin made four appearances for Real Madrid last season. Together with Blancos, Andrei became the champion of Spain, the winner of the Champions League and the owner of the Spanish Super Cup.
Khudzhamov ended his career in 2020. In February of this year, 39-year-old Khudzhamov became a goalkeeping coach in Polissya, Zhytomyr.
