European functionaries brace for potential unrest in Turkey over presidential election
UEFA is negotiating a possible transfer 2023 Champions League Final from Istanbul V Lisbon.
The duel should take place on June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium. Earlier, presidential elections will be held in Turkey. It is expected that the winner will be determined only in the second round of voting, which will be held on May 28. UEFA fears that unrest will continue after the elections in Turkey, which will threaten the safety of a football match.
It is reported that football officials informally contacted the Portuguese Football Federation regarding the possibility of urgently organizing the match. Previously, Lisbon and Porto hosted the Champions League finals in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic.
Real Madrid, Manchester City, Inter and Milan claim to reach the final. The return legs of the semi-finals will take place on 16 and 17 May.
