This Friday, the 12th, Athletico-PR announced the dismissal of two players from its squad after involvement in a scandal involving manipulation of sports betting. Bryan García and Pedrinho were disintegrated from the Paraná club. Through an official note, the team announced the decision and guaranteed that it treats these cases as closed.
The Hurricane duo appeared, at first, in a betting sheet that was released by the newspaper “O Globo”. In this way, the club from Paraná decided to remove the two players, in order to better understand the situation with the athletes themselves. In fact, both Pedrinho and Bryan García were not listed to face Internacional, in the last round of the Brasileirão.

In its official note, the club stated that it will no longer deal with the matter, as it understands that it must be guided by the competent authorities to do so. In addition, Athletico Paranaense stated that ethics is something that is above football, within the values that are considered fundamental for the institution.
“More than a sport, football is a cultural manifestation of our people. And for this reason, we understand that it is everyone’s duty, especially those who practice and orbit football, to preserve and protect this heritage, fighting hard against any conduct that threatens their dignity. and credibility,” he wrote.
