The former coach of Zorya and Sheriff is close to signing a contract with the Krivoy Rog club
Ex-player of Dynamo and former expert of TK Football 1/2/3 Viktor Leonenko shared his opinion about the possible appointment Yuri Vernidubwho is now in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to the post of head coach Kryvbas.
Earlier, Sport Arena reported that Vernydub is close to signing a contract with Kryvbas and has already held talks with the club’s management.
“Now there will be a hat-trick: Oleksandr Babich to Zorya, Yuriy Vernydub, most likely, to Kryvbas, and Viktor Skrypnyk to Poltava. It is clear that Vernydub serves, but it is no secret to anyone that Kryvbas is Zelensky’s club. Therefore, Vernydub can be safely released from the army. Well, it’s none of my business, but I’d like to. Vernydub is a good specialist, especially since he did such a thing with Real Madrid. There is something to be proud of him now. Nobody knew the sheriff, except for the Moldovans,” Leonenko said.
Leonenko also spoke about the possible return of Sergei Rebrov to Dynamo. The Ukrainian mentor led Al Ain last season.
“I understand that Rebrov does not even know if he is going to Dynamo. Mircea Lucescu will either leave or not. Signed a contract, didn’t sign. I didn’t call him, it’s none of my business. As a rule, coaches don’t like to talk about luck, not luck, ”Leonenko said.
Neftchi is also considering the option of appointing Vernydub. The coach himself admitted that he was inclined to work in the championship of Ukraine.
Wernydub has been led by Sheriff since December 2020. Under his leadership, the team won the Moldovan Championship twice and for the first time in history reached the Champions League group, where they finished third.
