Barreto celebrates third career access after title in Belgium

“It’s my first experience outside Brazil and it’s been really nice. The reception from the fans is very warm, people go to the stadium itself, even in away games, sectors of our fans are always full, that impressed me a lot” , said Barreto.

After accession, RWD Molenbeek became the third team from the city of Brussels present in the Belgian first division. RWD Molenbeek is owned by the same SAF majority owner as Botafogo. Barreto, who played for Glorioso, told about the special request that the American made to him, since, before the title won in Belgium, the midfielder already had the experience of rising with two teams back to the elite of Brazilian football (Bragantino and Botafogo).

“The project was presented to me, I was even told that John Textor wanted the team to go up this year, and asked to count on me. As I wasn’t being used much at Botafogo at that time and because of the experience I have of advancing two teams in my career, being champion, he asked me, he made me a special invitation so that I could try to reach the goal”.

Finally, the player revealed that he terminated his contract with Botafogo after signing with Molenbeek and, if he does not sign with any other team, he will be free on the market from the middle of the year:

“I terminated with Botafogo. When I arrived there was a rumor that I was on loan and I left it alone, I didn’t deny it, but the reality is that my contract ends with Molenbeek and I’m free on the market.
