English Premier League team Everton want to buy a consortium of American investors.
Everton could get a new owner. According to The Athletic, a consortium of American investors are actively interested in the Liverpool club.
Businessman John Thornton, CEO Barrick Gold and Talon Real Estate owner Maczek Kaminsky decided to combine their assets for a possible purchase. Their representative on the deal is former Manchester United and Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon.
Recall that at the moment the club, which plays Ukrainian defender Vitaliy Mykolenko, is owned by Farhad Moshiri. He recently raised his stake in the club to 94%.
Keep in mind that if the deal goes ahead, new investors will have to face some significant financial problems. So Everton have problems with fair play financially due to previously unsuccessful transfers, for which Moshiri has already apologized to fans.
In addition, the future owner will have to complete the construction of the team’s new stadium, which is estimated at 500 million pounds.
