Ancelotti sets record for most Champions League appearances as manager

Head coach Real Madrid Carlo Ancelotti set the record for the most appearances in the Champions League as a manager. The second leg against Manchester City in the semi-final of the tournament was his 191st.

According to this indicator, the Italian surpassed former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson, who had 190 matches. Arsene Wenger is third with 184 matches. Pep Guardiola has 160, Jose Mourinho has 151.

Recall, Ancelotti also holds the record for the number of victories in the Champions League – four times.

Ancelotti’s current contract with Real Madrid runs until the summer of 2024. Earlier it was reported that coach Blancos this summer can lead the Brazilian national team. Ancelotti himself denied that he was in talks to work with the Brazilian team.
