Mancun veteran Phil Jones will not play for the Red Devils next season.

In History Manchester United an era is about to end. The team, at the end of the season, will let go of central defender Phil Jones. In the summer, the player’s contract with the Red Devils will expire and the parties have decided not to renew it.

The club has already thanked the 31-year-old player for the 12 seasons spent Manchester United.

Jones himself commented on the news. The defender has published an open letter to Red Devils fans.

“Leaving a club is always difficult. I did it at Blackburn Rovers many years ago when I was only 19 but I never imagined what would happen next.

my time at United is nothing short of incredible. When I decided to leave BlackburnI prefer to prove myself. I represented my childhood club and lived the dream, but I want to show everyone what I can do at the highest level.

I had this hunger and I wanted to feel it in a club that could challenge everyone. I have offers from several clubs, but I keep waiting and waiting for a call from United. Once on vacation I received a call from Sir Alex.

The day I left for my vacation, I couldn’t wait to meet him. I can’t wait to sign the contract, and most of all, I can’t wait to get started. There is only one club where I want to continue my journey in the game.

It’s an honor to wear this jersey even once, wear this emblem and represent everything associated with it.

I want to play more. I wish I could give more to the many teams I played for. I will say, from the bottom of my heart, I did my best. I did everything the medical staff asked me to do.

I did my best to fulfill my dream and represent Manchester United in the field of. I spent some difficult days away from my family, rehab and recovery from everything, recovering from the field of training that I wanted to return to.

I already said that I had a hard time even talking to my friends, it hurts me that I can’t help them. It hurts me that my family can’t see me on match days, you feel like you’re embarrassing people.

Sometimes things happen in life that we don’t like, but we have to learn to accept it and be calm that we did everything to overcome difficulties. In your career and life, this is really all you can do.

The road can twist and lead you astray. It’s about getting back up after setbacks and keep moving forward. It’s a lesson I will use in my future endeavors, no matter what.

I lived the dream at the biggest club in the world. I played for England in big tournaments. SA United I won trophies, became Premier League champions under Sir Alex in his last season.

Now is not the time to be discouraged. It’s time for me and my family to look back and be happy that I was able to make my dream come true United. I can always tell my family and friends that very few people have to play for this club, always in its history and able to look back on happy memories.

I wish Erik Ten Hag and his staff, all the players good luck in the future. He is building something here and I will be watching, supporting and hoping that he can continue the progress we are all seeing.

I want to thank everyone who helped me Manchester Unitedwhere I found friends for life.

But most of all, thanks to my family, who are with me in everything. My biggest thanks to my wife and two beautiful girls, I can’t express in words the support you have given me. We are together and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for us,” Jones wrote.

Note that the 31-year-old Englishman has been playing for the Manchester club since the summer of 2011, moving there from Blackburn.

During this period, he managed to play 229 matches in the team, where he scored six goals and made 10 assists.

In addition, he has 27 caps for England.
