Governor of Kaliningrad region Anton Alikhanov congratulated the football club “Baltic by winning the right to play in the Russian Premier League (RPL) next season.
The Kaliningrad team won the right to play in the RPL in the 2023/24 season after a draw in the Premier League matchday 32 match between Akron Togliatti and Alania Vladikavkaz (0-0). Baltika last played in the first division of the Russian championship 25 years ago – in 1998.
Kaliningrad has been waiting for 25 years. Baltika is back in the RPL. Thanks to our coach Sergey Ignashevich and the whole team. Forward to Kaliningrad! — Alikhanov wrote on the Telegram channel.
