Aldonin: ‘Congratulations to Ignashevich and I hope Baltika continues to win in RPL’

Former defender of CSKA and the Russian national team Yevgeny Aldonin in a conversation with , he expressed the hope that “Baltic “under the direction of Sergei Ignachevitch after entering the Russian Premier League (RPL), he will continue his successful performances.

Baltika won the right to play in the RPL in the 2023/24 season after a draw in the MELBET First League Matchday 32 match between Akron Togliatti and Alania Vladikavkaz (0:0). Baltika last played in the first division of the Russian championship 25 years ago – in 1998.

– I can congratulate Sergey and Baltika, this is a great achievement. Before the start of the current Premier League season, five or six teams were clamoring to return to the RPL, this is a very serious competition. I know firsthand how tough the Premier League is, so I congratulate Sergey doubly on reaching the Premier League.

– Will Baltika manage to continue his successful performance in RPL?

— It depends on the transfer policy and the strengthening of the club, after all, the RPL is on another level. I think Ignashevich has already described some players for himself, let’s see if we can get stronger. Without amplification it will be very difficult, on the example of “Torpedo” this is clearly seen. I hope Sergey will continue to win in RPL with Baltika. In Kaliningrad, they have a great attitude towards the success of the club, the city lives from football and, I think, something enchanting is going to happen there now. Baltika showed character throughout all matches, always fought, and their unbeaten streak speaks volumes, Aldonin told .

On Saturday, Sergei Ignashevich’s team will receive the second Kazan Rubin (62 points). All it takes is a Tatarstan club to score a point to return to the Premier League.
