The Lilies won the Second Bundesliga ahead of schedule
Darmstadt ahead of schedule became the winner of the Second Bundesliga and secured a place in the elite division in the 2023/24 season.
Lilies beat Magdeburg in the 33rd round (1:0). The winning goal was scored by Phillip Tietz in the middle of the first half.
Darmstadt last played in the first Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season, finishing last. Last year, the Lilias stopped a step away from the playoff zone for the right to promotion.
The main contender for the second ticket to the Bundesliga is Heidenheim, who scored 61 points. Hamburg is in third place, allowing play-offs for promotion to the elite division.
