The club launched an investigation
Valencia issued an official statement in which she announced the launch of an investigation into the manifestations of racism during the match of the 35th round of the championship of Spain against Real Madrid (1:0).
In the publication, Valencia condemned forms of abuse and discrimination that tarnish the values of the club. Bats also announced that they would take tough measures based on the results of the situation.
Recall that in the middle of the second half in the game there was a pause for several minutes due to insults against Real Madrid winger Vinicius. And in stoppage time, the Brazilian received a red card for punching an opponent in the face.
The player himself said that “previously, La Liga belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi, but now it has been swallowed up by racism.” Vinicius also stressed that he will continue to fight racism in Spain.
In turn, La Liga launched its own investigation and requested all materials from the game between Real and Valencia. In case of identified violations, the organization undertook to take appropriate legal measures.
The Madrid Club has approached the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding this situation. The Blancos also intend to achieve a clear and private trial of the case with a fair punishment for the perpetrator.
Real Madrid are in third place in La Liga, one point behind Atlético Madrid. Valencia moved up to 13th position in the standings after beating the Blancos, extending their lead from the relegation zone to five points.
