Athletistic/Football. Former Manchester United and Russian national team player Andrey Kanchelskis has spoken about Alexander Kokorin’s season at Cypriot club Aris.
The 32-year-old Russian footballer, whose rights belong to Fiorentina, became the champion of Cyprus with Aris and was recognized as the best player in the Cypriot league for the season.
Kanchelskis congratulated Kokorin on the championship and noted that it is rare for Russian footballers to become champions in other countries. He admitted that Cyprus was not the most footballing country, but expressed hope that Kokorin would return to Fiorentina. If he became champion, they will definitely pay attention to him. Kanchelskis believes Kokorin should be given another chance so he can prove himself at Fiorentina.
Regarding Kokorin’s return to Russia, Kanchelskis believes that it shouldn’t be done. He argues that even Cyprus is preferable, as clubs there compete in the Champions League, while Fiorentina play in the Europa League. Given the situation, Kanchelskis thinks it’s best for Kokorin to stay in Europe.
