“In 2022, Trostyanets felt all the horrors of the war. From the first days of a full-scale invasion, the city was occupied by the Russian military. Rashists killed, robbed and destroyed everything that had been created over the years. After the Ukrainian Armed Forces drove the Russian bastard out of the city, Trostyanets began an active recovery process. A lot has already been done and a lot more work is planned and agreed for this year, ”the club said in a statement.
“In the summer of 2022, the PFL granted FC Trostyanets the right to suspend participation in the Second League of Ukraine for a year, while not losing the status of a professional team, to which we have been going for the last 8 years. The club took advantage of this right and devoted the last year to the intensive work of its own Academy. Now the preparatory work for the new season of the main team is in full swing and there are already agreements on new partnerships. More on that later.”
In June 2022, Trostyanets announced that he would not take part in the Ukrainian Second League championship of the 2022/2023 season. The club withdrew from the competition because of the desire to send funds for the restoration of the Trostyanets community after the occupation.
