On Wednesday, in the Moscow City Court, the prosecutor, during the debate of the parties, asked for a hardening of Larin’s sentence – up to 4 years and 4 months, the defense, in turn, also challenges the verdict of the first instance. In September, the court ruled – 3 years in prison with a request for the recovery of 20 million rubles from him in favor of the Moscow City Sports Department (Moskomsport).
“I ask the court to reconsider the public danger of my case. All funds went to the needs of the academy. I think we have created the most efficient school in Russia. Many of our students play in the RPL. And the school should receive a percentage for transfers of our students to other clubs. The academy has also received grants for the results presented.
All documents will be protected. All of this covers the amount of the Crown’s claim. I ask you to lighten the sentence at first instance and to impose a sentence not related to the deprivation of liberty, ”reports the correspondent of according to Larin’s words.
In September 2022, Larin was convicted of two counts of large-scale fraud.
