An experienced defender will remain in the location of the Bumblebees for another season
Borussia D announced the extension of the contract with the defender Mats Hummels.
The experienced center back will play for the Shmels until the end of the 2023/24 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hummels has been playing for Borussia Dortmund since 2008, but the defender played three seasons for Bayern. The 34-year-old defender has made 37 appearances for the Shmels in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
Borussia Dortmund, one round before the end of the season, leads the Bundesliga, ahead of Bayern by two points. In the final round of the German Championship, the Bumblebees will host Mainz on May 27th.
