Athletistic/Football. Artur Grigoryants, head of the Russian Football Union’s Control and Disciplinary Committee, commented on the decision to disqualify Spartak striker Alexander Sobolev, who will miss the next four matches of the Russian championship.
“Sobolev was present at the meeting. Earlier, he apologized to the media and the committee for his actions. Representatives of the Spartak club condemned his act. The committee believes that the player’s behavior was cynical. A such a gesture, made in the presence of 25,000 spectators and cameras … The whole country saw it. Cynical gesture towards the opponent. Sobolev has already committed disciplinary offenses – he has already received sanctions in the Cup.
Considering all the circumstances, it was decided to disqualify Sobolev for four RPL matches,” reports the Championship correspondent Grigoryants’ words.
