Money from the sale of Chelsea to help Ukraine can be unfrozen within the next month

They will go to the funds to help the victims of the war in Ukraine

Money from the sale of assets Chelsea to help Ukraine will be able to be unfrozen within the next month.

The funds will be allocated to several projects that will cover the rehabilitation of health care, housing, education and agriculture.

In the near future, the UK government will issue a special license, according to which it will be possible to unfreeze bank accounts. At the same time, the final consent to the settlement of the issue belongs to the oligarch and ex-owner of the Blues, Roman Abramovich.

Recall that the British government will transfer 2.3 billion pounds to Ukraine. The amount is the net proceeds from the sale of Chelsea by Roman Abramovich in 2022.

Abramovich bought Chelsea in the summer of 2003. Since then, the London club has won the Champions League and the Europa League twice, and has also become the champion of England five times.

The businessman put the club up for sale after he came under sanctions from the British government due to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Last May, a consortium led by US businessman Todd Boely bought Chelsea for £4.25 billion (the equivalent of $5.25 billion).
