Athletistic/Football. Former director of the “Chertanovo” football academy Nikolai Larin left the remand center on Wednesday evening after receiving a suspended sentence.
In September 2022, Larin was convicted of two counts of large-scale fraud and sentenced to three years in a penal colony.
According to the investigation, Larin, who led the Chertanovo Academy from 2008 to 2021, overestimated the number of students at the academy in order to obtain additional funding.
On May 24, the Moscow City Court commuted the sentence and replaced it with a suspended sentence for Larin.
Well-known football players such as Maxim Glushenkov, Sergey Pinyaev, Dmitry Tsypchenko, Ilya Abaev and others arrived for a meeting with Larin from the remand center, Sport24 reports.
