Ex-defender of Dynamo Pivaric announced the end of his career as a player

The Croatian will play their last match on May 26

Defender of the Zagreb Lokomotiv Josip Pivaric announced his retirement from football.

“I made this decision not immediately. I want to spend even more time with my family and I thought this was the right time to say goodbye to the soccer ball.”

“In my career, there were a lot of problems with injuries, as many as seven operations prevented development. All this is now felt on my body. I don’t want to dedicate every part of my body to football anymore, I’ve given it enough. Despite the fact that I prepared well for the matches and felt good, it was much more difficult for me to recover from the loads.

“Never say never, but for now I don’t plan to stay in football! I need rest and rest from football, which I have devoted my whole life to. Now the most important thing for me is to spend time with my family, ”said the defender.

Pivarich played for Dynamo from 2017 to 2020, with the Kiev team the defender won the Cup and the Super Cup of Ukraine. Later, the Croatian moved to Lokomotiv, for which he played at the beginning of his career.

Pivaric has made 26 appearances for the Croatian national team. The defender won silver medals at the 2018 World Championship.

Pivaric will play his last match on May 26. Lokomotiv away will play with Varazdin in the final round of the Croatian championship.
