Dayana became the sixth Ukrainian in the main draw of the French Open 2023
Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya entered mainstream Roland Garros 2023.
In the qualifying final, Yastremska defeated Gret Minnen from Belgium in three sets. The fight lasted a little over two hours.
In the third set, Dayana lost 0:3, but managed to return to the game and get the final victory by making two breaks – 6:4.
For the entire match, the Ukrainian realized five out of ten breakpoints, giving her opponent five games on her serve. Also Dayana made four double faults.
Earlier in qualifying, Yastremska defeated Alexandra Ignatik from Romania and American Sachiya Vickery. Recall that Daria Snigur could not overcome the first round of selection.
Dayana’s opponent in the first round of Roland Garros will be known later. Recall that Elina Svitolina, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk, Lesya Tsurenko and Katerina Beindl will also play in the main draw of the French Open.
