The Lions continue their search for a new coach
According to information Sport Arenaanother contender for the post of head coach of Lviv Carpathians became an ex-player of Dynamo Kyiv, London Arsenal and the Ukrainian national team Oleg Luzhny.
Also, according to our information, Karpaty intend to seriously strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window.
At the end of his professional career as a player, Luzhny worked at Dynamo, where he was twice the acting head coach of the Kyiv team.
Luzhny also headed Tavria (2012/13), worked in the Carpathians (2016) and was an assistant to Alexander Khatskevich in Dynamo (2017-19). In recent years, the specialist was associated with some Ukrainian clubs, but he did not sign an official contract with anyone.
Earlier, Sport Arena reported that the Karpaty are considering the candidacies of Ostap Markevich, Oleg Dulub and Yuriy Moroz.
Recall that the current head coach of the Karpaty Andriy Tlumak is close to resignation. He has already told the players that he intends to leave the position due to failure to complete the task – entering the Premier League.
A round before the finish of the First League, the Karpaty are in fifth position in the standings of the champion group. Tlumak’s team is three points behind Metallurg Zaporozhye. On May 27, the Lions will host Obolon.
