Sport Arena names the symbolic team of the next UPL round of the 2022/23 season, as well as the best in individual nominations, which our website determines for each round
Goalkeeper – Oleg Mozil (Metalist 1925)
Contrary to forecasts, the match in Petrovo turned out to be difficult and combative. Kharkiv players played out in the minority. “Zulyovka”, which under these circumstances looked like a completely acceptable result, became possible only thanks to the maximum concentration and dedication. In particular, the goalkeeper – after all, serious pressure was put on Mozil’s goal, he often entered the game after innings and crosses, and at the end of the game he worked with aimed shots from Kucherenko, Kovalev, Kravchuk. One of the highlights of the tour was how Oleg moved another ball into the crossbar with his fingertips.
Right back – Igor Perduta (Vorskla)
A match against one of the contenders for the championship is a good personal test for each of their opponents. Perduta passed the Dnepr-1 test. Suffice it to say that Matarrita and Tanchik only slowed him down with a foul, and Igor himself was involved in both scoring situations. At the very beginning of the meeting, after his cross, Chelyadin tried to score, but Adamyuk crashed hard into him. With a belated appeal to the VAR, the referee rewound back and appointed a penalty kick, from which Sklyar opened the scoring. And just before the break, Perduta greatly supported Kane’s attack, giving Ibrahim also an assist.
Central defender – Valeriy Bondar (Shakhtar)
Even without Guerrero, Lugansk had fast, sharp and technical players in front – however, we did not recognize Zorya. But they discovered for themselves how Cooper can act. Together with Rakitskiy, Valery played almost flawlessly, with fantastic accuracy both in passing work and in numerous tackles and interceptions (here, Bondar, it seems, simply had no equal on the tour). Of course, there are few matches in the UPL where Shakhtar’s defensive team can get a high-quality crash test, if we consider Zorya as such an opponent, then we put Bondar with five.
Central defender – Vladimir Salyuk (Chernomorets)
In the match with PFC Lvov, the injured Guchek could not play, plus a few more people, it seems, will be added to the Odessa infirmary. On the other hand, Salyuk played well in defense, although it was felt that the hosts wanted to slam the door to the Premier League well. Vladimir not only coped with his tasks in defense, but also actively went to the gates of others. On the second attempt, he closed a great corner from Kuzik, and this goal remained the only one – and became victorious.
Left back – Ivan Dibango (Kryvbas)
The Cameroonian fit well into the game of the Kryvyi Rih club and supplemented it with his long passes, sharpness, involvement in attacks. When Khomchenovsky was preparing the first scoring combination, Dibango moved forward in time, got a convenient pass and cut out an accented serve, after which Sosa opened the scoring in the match with Metalist – and his goals in Kryvbas.
Right midfielder – Kahim Anthony Perris (Dynamo)
Again we praise the Jamaican, who gets his chance to prove himself and takes part in Dynamo’s combination game to the best of his ability. It was Perris who boldly went to put pressure on Volynets, which ended in the most annoying and curious conceded goal in the entire career of a candidate for the national team of Ukraine. In the future, Kahim played diligently on the flank, where he established interaction with Timchik. And he himself tried to shoot at Kolos’s goal, but he scored an assist when he timely passed across.
Central midfielder – Alexander Andrievsky (Dynamo)
It should be noted that Andrievsky is in good shape, in recent matches he has been playing in the middle line of the Kyivans. He not only performed a large amount of work against the experienced Kolos midfield with a good Dynamo school. Oleksandr played well in the lead (his passes sharpened the game for Ramirez and Perris several times), and also secured the advantage of the Kiev team in the middle of the second half with an excellent long-range shot.
Central midfielder – Dmitry Klets (Veres)
Rovenchany saved themselves, losing two goals to Alexandria. Klets began the sensational rebound, feeling the pace of the attack and in time to catch the ball that bounced off after an attempt to give away from Gaiduchik. After scoring the first goal with a juicy blow, Dmitry later led the play from the set pieces: after his passes, G. Pasich and Kucherov could score, and after the break, his corner kick helped Vovchenko, for whom Balan won the fight. A strong-willed draw with the Rotan team makes the Alexandrians the record holders for the number of draws over the past five seasons.
Left midfielder – Georgy Sudakov (Shakhtar)
Sudakov’s goal, which did not miss from an excellent position after Zubkov’s pass, broke Zara’s game plan already in the 5th minute – and, given the excessive number of injured and counterattacking nature, this hit the underdogs of the central match of the tour especially painfully. In the future, Georgy surprisingly convincingly played in the middle lane, together with Kryskiv, completely outplaying his rivals.
Forward – Kirill Kovalets (FC Alexandria)
According to Rotan’s idea, Kovalets did not just perform some kind of “fake nine”, but fully took over the forward’s functionality. And already in the debut in Rivne, taking advantage of Sigeev’s pass, he opened the scoring (not without the help of a tangible rebound from Kurko). In the future, Cyril acted no less actively. He soon assisted with a good pass under Mikhailenko’s goal, and later several times from different points of the field he himself punched through Kohut’s goal.
Forward – Daniel Sosa (Kryvbas)
So the striker of the Niger national team opened the scoring with his goals for Kryvbas. In the match against Metalist Sosa was one of the most active and even in the first half he dangerously shot three times at Yermolov’s goal. If at first accuracy failed, then in the 20th minute, Daniel closed the canopy of Dibango great. Noting the late newcomer of Kryvyi Rih, we are not only talking about a goal: Sosa has already joined the combinational actions of Kryvbas and acted great along the entire front of the attack.

The peremptory victory of the leader over the third team of the championship was surprising, even despite the absence of seven main players in the Zorya line-up (the main goalkeeper Matsapura, defenders Danchenko and Kiryukhantsev, midfielder Churko, leading striker Guerrero could not help the Luhansk team in the central match of the tour due to injuries, midfielder Khlan and forward Pogorely – due to special circumstances). Previously, the Luhansk team created serious opposition to the Pitmen, taking away points from them in five of the last six head-to-head matches, but this time Shakhtar’s superiority was felt from the first minutes to the last.
Analysis from the All-Ukrainian Association of Football Coaches – here.
There were other successful substitutions on the tour (for example, the Dynamo third goal was completely created by jokers – Shaparenko assisted, Voloshin closed). But Shakhtar’s rookie deserved a distinction for the regularity of such achievements. For the fifth time in the current championship, the Venezuelan Kelsey scores after coming on as a substitute!
- Sport Arena stats: 12 league matches, 5 goals.
Voloshin had an excellent loan in Kryvbas, where he was the main player in the first round and scored four goals. In Dynamo, in fierce competition, Nazar is looking for his place on the field and is slowly progressing. For the second round in a row, the 19-year-old midfielder is distinguished by a goal, which gives him hope in the future to come out not as a substitute, but from the starting minutes.
- Sport Arena stats: 24 league matches, 6 goals.
The 22-year-old Malian played, probably, his best match upon his return from China: he scored the winning goal against Dnepr-1, which can be of great importance in determining the champion, ironed the right flank together with Perduta. We have high-quality legionary competition – Dynamo player Perris (Jamaica), Donetsk resident Kelsey (Venezuela), a trio of legionnaires from Kryvbas (Bosnian Kapic, Nigerian Sosa and Cameroonian Dibango) performed effectively. However, Ibrahim should be noted for the exceptional importance of the solo performance.
- Sport Arena stats: 9 league matches, 1 goal, 2 assists.
The best player of this round was the player who scored a goal and an assist in Rivne, although this was not enough to defeat Veres.
- Sport Arena stats: 23 league games, 4 goals, 1 assist.
