The Egyptian apologized to the fans of the team
Attack Liverpool Mohamed Salah addressed the team’s fans after the Reds were out of the Champions League zone.
“I am completely devastated. There is absolutely no justification for this. We had everything we needed to get into the Champions League, but we couldn’t. We are Liverpool and qualifying for competitions should be our minimum. Sorry, but it’s too early for an inspiring or optimistic post. We have failed you and ourselves.”
Salah has scored 30 goals and provided 15 assists in 50 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season. In March, the Egyptian became Liverpool’s top scorer in the era of the English Premier League.
Liverpool are in fifth place in the Premier League with a round to go, but four points behind Newcastle. In the final match of the season, Jurgen Klopp’s team will play against Southampton on 28 May.
