After much negotiation, the Liverpool finally announced the signing of the striker Darwin Núñez, ex-Benfica. The young Uruguayan, just 22 years old, cost 75 million euros (R$ 392 million) to the Reds’ coffers and signed a contract valid until 2028. The English will still be able to pay another 25 million euros (R$ 130 million) in variables , which would make Núñez the most expensive signing in the club’s history.

It is not the first time that Núñez has broken records in a transfer. The Uruguayan is Liverpool’s second signing for next season. The first was the Portuguese attacking midfielder Fábio Carvalhoonly 19 years old, who was champion of the English second division with the Fulham. The youngster has signed a contract with the Reds until 2027.
