10 years ago, Neymar said goodbye to saints. On May 26, 2013, the striker played his last game with Peixe’s shirt and was in the starting line-up in the 0-0 draw with Flamengoat the Mané Garrincha stadium, for the first round of the Brazilian Championship that year.
A club that had a victorious partnership with the player, Santos used social media to remember the star’s farewell: a message on the walls of the dressing room at CT Rei Pelé. “I go, but I come back”wrote the striker.
From 2009 to 2013, Menino da Vila played 225 games and scored 136 goals. Neymar ended his victorious passage through the São Paulo club with the Libertadores titles, the Copa do Brasil, in addition to the third São Paulo championship.
He left Santos to sign with Barcelona, the club he defended before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017. At the age of 31, the number 10 has a contract with the French team until 2027.
