Case remanded for retrial

Appeal Committee Ice Hockey Federation of Ukraine canceled the disqualification of athletes, coaches, sports judges and managers (total – 171 people) involved in organizing matches of the Ukrainian hockey Superleague. The case has been remanded for retrial.

“When canceling the decision to impose disciplinary sanctions, the FHU Appeal Committee took into account, in particular, the constructive actions of the athletes-collectors, who, despite the desire of the organizers of the fake tournament, further showed dignity, personal will and desire to continue activities under the auspices of the Federation, as well as comply with the regulations FHU norms,” the FHU said in a statement.

The FHU Disciplinary Committee applied disciplinary sanctions to the organizers and participants of the Superleague on January 17, 2022.

The Hockey Superleague was created against the backdrop of a conflict between the Ukrainian Hockey League and Donbass and Kramatorsk, which were excluded from the championship of the Ukrainian Hockey League in November.

In addition to Donbass and Kramatorsk, White Bars, Mariupol, SK Sokol and Altair played in the Superleague championship.
