‘It’s better to train with CSKA than go on loan’ – Yakovlev

CSKA striker loaned to PARI NN Vladislav Yakovlev told Sport24 that he moved to the club from Nizhny Novgorod for match training, although he thinks it’s better to train with the army team than hire.

The 21-year-old striker was loaned out in January until the end of the 2022/23 season.

– A year and a half ago you said: “It’s better to train at CSKA and play less than dust somewhere on loan.” But this winter he came on loan to BET NN. What changed?

– Nothing. I still think it’s better to train with CSKA than go on loan. Will explain. Up to a point, the player will only progress by training with the first team, while playing for the youth team. But then comes a period where training with the foundations is no longer enough to progress. At this point, you already need to practice the game. That’s why I ended up in Nizhny.

– How did it happen?

I needed a new step in my career. I wanted to have more playing time. Nizhny’s first call was to Movsesyan (the sports director of CSKA). He talked about it, and I found this option interesting. Then I spoke to the sports director of Nizhny. CSKA was interested in me doing an internship.

This season, Yakovlev has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
