Hearn: Fury didn’t send us a contract, but we’re talking to his promoter about the fight

Joshua plans to fight in August and fight Deontay Wilder in December, but will consider another plan

Promoter Eddie Hearn said that the former world champion Anthony Joshua did not receive a draft contract from the WBC champion Tyson Furybut held negotiations with the team of the “Gypsy King”.

“I don’t want to annoy anyone, but at the same time I feel it’s important to tell you what’s going on. I also don’t want anyone trying to make Anthony Joshua look bad for no reason.”

“Firstly, they didn’t send us a contract. Tyson Fury came out and said, “I sent the contract to Anthony Joshua’s team.” But we were not sent a contract for a fight in September. On Tuesday or Wednesday, George Warren emailed me and said, “Listen, are you interested in fighting in September? We discussed terms before. I don’t think it will be that hard to do. What do you think?”

“I immediately called Warren and said, ‘Look, we’re planning our August fight and we’re obviously in Saudi Arabia to fight Deontay Wilder in December. If we can’t get this model to move, we’ll be happy to discuss a fight with Tyson Fury.”

Fury said earlier that he had sent Joshua a draft contract for the fight. Tyson’s team proposes to fight in September at Wembley.

Fury’s spokesman George Warren and Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn were reportedly already in talks. Last year, the boxing teams also discussed a potential fight, but then the parties came to nothing.

Joshua last fought in April, defeating Jermain Franklin via unanimous decision. Anthony has said he could return to the ring in the summer. Also, the Briton is ready to fight with Deontay Wilder in December.
