The Pitmen won the league title for the 14th time in the history of the club
Miner crushed Dnepr-1 in the home game of the 29th round UPL — 3:0.
In the 9th minute of the meeting, Artem Bondarenko put the Miners ahead. In the second half, Igor Jovićević’s team managed to score two goals within four minutes.
First, Daniil Sikan distinguished himself by converting one-on-one with Vladislav Rybak, and finished the match with an accurate long-range shot by Shakhtar’s captain Taras Stepanenko.
The meeting ended in a mass brawl involving representatives from both teams, including substitutes and coaching staff. The match ended prematurely for Peglow, Nazarina, Trubin and Fedoriv.
Shakhtar became the champion of Ukraine ahead of schedule in the 2022/23 season. The Pitmen won the league title for the 14th time in the club’s history.
In the final round of the season, Shakhtar will play Vorskla on June 4. Dnipro-1 continues to fight with Zorya for the second place in the standings and in the last round Oleksandr Kucher’s team will play against Kryvbas.
