Midfielder CSKA Arnor Sigurdsson loaned to Sweden Norrkoping does not want to continue his career in Russia, reports RT.
Sigurdsson previously benefited from an amendment from the International Football Federation (FIFA) allowing him to unilaterally suspend his contract with the club until June 2023. The player’s deal with the Red-Blues runs until the summer 2024, while the loan to Norrköping officially expires on June 30, 2023.
This season, the 24-year-old Icelander has made 14 appearances for Norrköping in the league and in the Swedish Cup, in which he scored 9 goals. Before the loan to this team, the Icelander also played on loan at Venice.
FIFA has announced that foreign coaches and players can suspend contracts with member clubs of the Russian Football Union (RFU) until June 30, 2024, provided the clubs are informed of this decision by July 1, 2023 .
