Formerly London”Arsenal praised Arshavin on Twitter and posted a video of the footballer’s four goals in the match against Liverpool, which took place at Anfield in 2009. Hours later, the English club deleted the congratulatory message.
During his career, Arshavin played for the “Zenith” of St. Petersburg, the “Arsenal” of London, the “Kuban” of Krasnodar and the “Kairat” of Kazakhstan. As part of the “blue-white-blue” he three times became the champion of Russia, the owner of the UEFA Cup and the Super Cup.
For the Russian national team, Arshavin played 75 games and scored 17 goals. As part of the national team, the striker became the bronze medalist of Euro 2008.
Arshavin ended his career in 2018, he currently holds the position of deputy general manager of sports development at the Zenit football club.
