Fabián Bustos gave a press conference, where he commented on Santos’ performance in the comeback victory over Juventude playing away from home
On Tuesday night, the 14th, the saints went to Caxias do Sul to face the Youth in a match valid for the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship. In a very complicated match, Peixe was behind on the scoreboard and had to run after the loss to score in the competition and distance himself from the relegation zone.
The home team’s goal was scored by Ricardo Bueno, 25 minutes into the first stage. In a well-crafted play, the ball reached the right sector and, after a great cross, the forward headed in the lead to make it 1-0. However, after a strong entry by Yuri in Jhojan Julius, the referee was called to VAR and sent off the midfielder. With that, Santos entered the game even more and got the turnaround, with goals from Eduardo Bauermann and Marcos Leonardo.

After the match, the coach Fabian Bustos praised the team’s evolution over the course of the game, especially in the second half. The captain revealed that Santos made mistakes, but even in the first half they deserved, at least, a draw. In addition, the Santos coach did not fail to express his opinion on the expulsion.
“We were too slow. We were predictable for rivals. In the locker room I said that we had made mistakes, like their goal shot. It was a position error. I don’t remember many more situations of them. We started the game tired, I don’t know, but it’s no excuse. Then, before the expulsion, we were better. we deserved the draw, we created situations, without playing as we wanted“, he said before finishing.
“In the second half we showed more of our form, as we liked, with wide wings, a lot of mobility, creating situations and finishing much more. Obviously with one more is an advantage because we had more space. Before the draw we deserved it, we had three or four situations that we didn’t convert. We deserved it. I don’t remember any defense by João Paulo. We created the result on our merit. And the expulsion was very clear“, he added.
