The Argentine can move on as a free agent
Benfica will make an offer to the Juventus midfielder in the coming days Angel Di Maria.
The Argentinean could not agree with the club on wages in the new contract. Juventus offered a new deal with a reduced salary of 4 million euros per year. The 35-year-old winger has insisted on keeping the current €6m payout.
Di Maria will leave the team at the end of the season. Recall that Angel moved to Juventus from PSG last summer. During the season at the club, the midfielder played 39 matches in all competitions, scoring eight goals and giving seven assists.
Note that Di Maria played for Benfica in 2007-2010. With the Eagles, the Argentine became the champion of Portugal and triumphed twice in the Portuguese League Cup.
Juventus are in seventh place in Serie A. Benfica became the champion of Portugal and reached the group stage of the Champions League.
