With one less, Brazil beats Tunisia and goes to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup

With one less throughout the second half, the Brazilian Team Under-20 won the Tunisia by 4 to 1 this Wednesday, 31, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup in the category. The team of Ramon Menezes featured goals from Leonardo Marcos (penalty), Andrew Santos (twice) and Matheus Martins to confirm the victory.

The next opponent of the South American team will be Israelwhich eliminated the uzbekistan in the other match. The duel for the quarterfinals is scheduled for next Saturday, the 6th, at 2:30 pm (Brasília time), at the San Juan stadium. Whoever advances will get the winner of the confrontation between U.S x Gambia or Uruguay. This last classified will be defined this Thursday, 1st, from 14:30.

The game

Brazil managed to be calm in the first stage to carry the advantage into the break. The Brazilian team had possession of the ball since the beginning of the game and managed to open the scoring after 10 minutes of the first half. After a foul on Marcos Leonardo in the area, the referee awarded the penalty and the attacker himself went for the kick. With confidence, he did not waste the goal: 1 to 0.

The hopscotch extended the lead on the scoreboard in the 31st minute, with a goal by Andrey Santos. In the move, Marcos Leonardo was smarter than the marking and played for the Vasco midfielder, who received it in the back of the defense and finished well: 2 to 0. Brazil lost a player in the 44th minute of the first stage, when Robert Renan was sent off with a straight red for a foul on Dhaoui from behind.

With one less in the second half, Brazil came under pressure from Tunisia, which controlled the stage’s actions. The Tunisian team reached the goal in the 32nd minute, after a beautiful launch by Aouani, who finished with a cross as Kaike left. The referee was called to check the monitor and the goal was annulled due to a hand touch by the African striker.

At 46 minutes, in a beautiful move by Marlon Gomes, Brazil spiked the classification to end the drama. On the counterattack, Marlon received it on the left end, believed in the move and played for Matheus Martins to pass and complete it from the bottom line: 3 to 0.

Brazil applied the thrashing in the 55th minute, with another goal by Andrey. In a counterattack down the middle, Giovane triggered the midfielder, who shot free and completed the goal for the back of the net: 4 to 0. Two minutes later, in the last moments of added time, Tunisia scored with a goal by Ghorbel: 4 to 1.
