Mourinho says he’s prouder of losing UEFA Champions League final than after European wins

The head coach “Roma” Jose Mourinho commented on the team’s defeat in the Europa League final.

The Roman club lost to Sevilla in a penalty shootout with the score 4:1 (regular time and extra time – 1:1). Mourinho was beaten in the European Cup final for the first time in his coaching career.

“I’ve won five finals and lost this one, but I’m going home with my head held high. The guys gave their all. Now we’re all very sad, with or without tears. A great game, a great final – intense, luminous.

We have lost, but we have not lost our dignity. I go home with a sense of pride. Even when I won, it wasn’t that strong. We missed chances not only in the penalty shootout.

Congratulations to Seville. But I also congratulate my guys, they can go home with peace of mind and be proud of what they have achieved,” UEFA Mourinho press service quotes.

The live broadcast of the Europa League final took place on the channels , Match! Football 1” and MATCH PREMIER, as well as on the matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru sites.
