Another legendary footballer will continue his career in the championship of Saudi Arabia
Al Ittihad announced the signing of the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner Karima Benzema.
The 35-year-old striker signed a contract with the club from Saudi Arabia until 2026. It was reported that Al-Ittihad was ready to pay Benzema 100 million euros per year, excluding bonuses.
Benzema’s previous club was Real Madrid, for which he has played since 2009. The Frenchman has won 25 different trophies with the team, including four Spanish titles. The striker has also won the Champions League five times. Benzema is the second-best scorer in Blancos history.
Al-Ittihad became the champion of Saudi Arabia in the 2022/23 season. The team is led by well-known Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
Recall that the former striker of Real Madrid, Manchester United and Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays in the Saudi Arabian Championship as part of Al-Nasr. Another Saudi club, Al-Hilal, is working on signing former Barcelona and PSG striker Lionel Messi.
