An experienced specialist will lead the Bergamasks next season
Management Atalanta and head coach Gian Piero Gasperini agreed to continue cooperation. The mentor will lead the Bergamasks next season as well.
Earlier, Italian media reported that Gasperini could leave Atalanta due to a damaged relationship with the club’s owners. Napoli, Genoa and Torino were interested in the coach’s services.
Gasperini has been in charge of Atalanta since the summer of 2016. The mentor’s contract with the club is valid until June 30, 2024. At the head of the Bergamasks, the coach spent more than 300 matches.
Atalanta finished the season in fifth place in Serie A and will play in the group stage of the Europa League.
