River beats Fluminense and lives on in Libertadores

This Wednesday, the 7th, Fluminense visited River Plate at Mâs Monumental, for the fifth round of the group stage of the Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores. Pushed by their fans, the Argentines managed to win, thanks to the goal scored by Beltrán, and continue with chances of qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition.

The first half started frantically and River managed to score after just four minutes with the ball rolling. Solari received from De La Cruz and, face to face with Fábio, finished with style, but VAR reviewed the move and quickly annulled the Argentine goal.

Despite this, River Plate, needing the victory to stay alive in the competition, did not stop putting pressure on the Tricolors and only did not open the scoring thanks to Fábio. With the advantage in their favor, River managed the score and closed, as they needed to win to stay alive in Libertadores.
