Bosco dello Sport project on standby: no public funding for the Venezia Stadium

Bad news for Orange and Green fans on the subject of the stadium. Saying goodbye to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan funds effectively makes the Bosco dello Sport-related stadium project impossible. As we learn from the dossier de Newspaper Curated by Francesco Bottazzo, while for the Bosco dello sport the stoppage of funding can only be temporary, waiting to figure out how to fund the 308 million euro project, the government has reported that there is no public funding for the stadium, as well as for other football venues on the whole country. This means that the economic plan will be entirely the responsibility of the municipal administration of Venice.

In addition, the distribution of public funding, useful for Bosco dello sport, would also mean a final farewell to the stadium on the mainland, as understood in the plan. In fact, given the way the work was structured, there would be no room for intervention that would be attractive for possible private co-financing, as there are no malls, hotels, or offices.

There should be no news in this sense until the end of the summer season. Mayor Luigi Brugnaro was therefore forced to suspend the ban for three months and possibly extend it pending news from Rome. The city administration’s appeal would have missed the 93.4 million euros canceled from the Pnrr funds, of which 42.7 million were intended for the stadium. Ca’ Farsetti, between the budget surplus and the mortgage, would allocate the remaining 200 million euros.
