The promoter noted that a lot depends on the decision of Vasily and his father
Promoter Bob Arum said he wants to organize a fight of the ex-world champion in three divisions Vasily Lomachenko with former featherweight and super featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson.
“Obviously the one I would love to fight the most is Shakur Stevenson because that’s another guy I love to watch fight. From the moment we signed Shakur and Lomachenko, I’ve been thinking about this fight. It was too early for Shakur to fight Loma back then, but I would love that fight even if I didn’t promote it. I would pay to see it.”
“Well, it depends on Loma and his father what they want to do. If I was a fan, I would be happy to pay money every time Loma enters the ring because he is such a great talent, whether it be a rematch with Haney, a drop to a lower weight, or a fight with other good fighters at 135 pounds. I am a big fan of Vasyl Lomachenko and I know that we will continue. He’s a really great fighter, interesting.”
Previously, Stevenson said he wants to fight Lomachenko. Shakur wants to fight soon while the Ukrainian is in shape.
Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney by unanimous decision in his last fight. The sports community spoke about the unfair decision of the panel of judges.
