Promoter Confirms Plans To Pre-Fight Dillian Whyte On August 12
Promoter Eddie Hearn said that he received an official offer to fight the ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua with former world champion Deontay Wilder. At the same time, the contract for the duel, scheduled for December in Saudi Arabia, has not yet been received.
“We have an offer without a contract. So we need to wait with this contract,” said the promoter.
“We were just discussing this, we had an email dialogue. We’ll probably get a call later today. As I said, AJ’s next fight is on August 12th, we would like him to fight Dillian Whyte, see if we can get a deal.”
Joshua plans to fight White in August to get in shape for the Wilder fight. Anthony faced Dillian in 2015 for the WBC International belt and British titles. Joshua won by TKO in the seventh round.
Recall that Skill Challenge Entertainment plans to host a fight in the Middle East between two ex-world champions Joshua and Wilder, as well as a fight between WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and WBC champion Tyson Fury. Wilder is interested in the December night of boxing, whether or not Fury takes part in it.
