The national team of Ukraine will play with Belgium, Poland and Serbia in the selection for the 2024 World Cup
Head coach national team of Ukraine futsal Alexander Kosenko commented on the results of the draw for the elite round of selection for world championship-2024.
“Now any team with the format that will be, can take points from any opponent, even if someone on paper is a favorite, and someone is an outsider. This is especially true for home fights, because at home, as they say, the walls help. Moreover, I have repeatedly said that all teams of a good level all pull themselves up in their skills.
“Serbs, Belgians and Poles all know how to play. Therefore, you need to prepare. I think that the group is equal, all four teams are about the same level.”
“Polish futsal is now developing rapidly. Many legionnaires play in the local championship, and Polish futsal players are progressing. There are very good players. This also applies to the Serbian team. We know that any team from the Balkan Peninsula is very powerful. And the Belgian national team is technical. It is a slightly different direction, but also of a good level. I think it will be interesting.”
The Blue-Yellows are in Group B, where they will play against Poland, Serbia and Belgium. Matches will be held in three stages (home-away): September 11-20, October 2-11 and December 11-20.
The five group winners will qualify for the 2024 World Cup. The top four runners-up will advance to the Elite Round Playoffs.
The Elite Round play-off draw will take place on January 25, and the matches will take place on April 8 and 17. According to the results of the playoffs, the winners of the two pairs will also enter the world championship.
