Manchester City won the Champions League thanks to a minimal victory over Inter
Head coach Manchester City Pep Guardiola shared his emotions after the final match Champions League With Inter (1:0).
“I want to congratulate Inter on their performance. I know how they feel – we felt it two years ago. This is the second best team in Europe and that’s great.
“This ending was written by the stars. I’m happy, but at the same time they could have scored and we could have lost. We are happy with something unique: winning a treble.”
“We managed to win in Europe – it’s hard, but it’s normal. Sometimes you need that luck that we didn’t have in the past. I’ll understand what we did in a couple of days.”
“We struggled to find space for our players in the first half. Then in the second half we scored a brilliant goal, but in the last minutes Inter were better and we had to struggle. We have an incredible goalkeeper and he made the saves he was supposed to make.”
The only goal in the meeting was scored by Rodri in the middle of the second half. A few minutes later, Inter could bounce back, but Federico Dimarco hit the crossbar.
Manchester City have won the Champions League for the first time in their history. In addition to winning the Champions League, Pep Guardiola’s team won the English championship and the FA Cup, thus completing the treble.
