Analysts do not believe in blue and yellow
On June 12, in Bremen, the Ukrainian team will play in a friendly match with the national team of Germany. According to bookmaker analysts, Bundestim is the favorite of the match.
Germany’s chances of winning are estimated as 1×1.38. Probability of winning Ukraine – 1×9.4. The probability that the match ends in a draw is 1x.5.7.
The match with Germany is the first for Sergei Rebrov at the helm of the Ukrainian national team. And also – an excellent stage of preparation for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against North Macedonia and Malta. For the German national team, the meeting with the blue-and-yellows is the 1000th anniversary match in the history of the country’s national team.
This 1000 matches included eight fights with the Ukrainian national team. Germany did not lose in any of them, scoring five victories and three draws. The goal difference is 17:7 in favor of the Bundesteam.
The upcoming match is only the second friendly match between the two teams. Prior to this, the teams crossed paths in the selection for the 1998 World Cup (Germany won at home – 2:0 and a draw in Kiev – 0:0), the playoffs for the 2002 World Cup (draw in Ukraine – 1:1 and Germany won at home – 4 : 1), the final stage of the European Championship 2016 (Germany’s victory – 2: 0), the League of Nations 2020 (two wins of Germany – 2: 1 and 3: 1). In the only friendly match, held in Kyiv in 2011, the teams parted with the world – 3:3.
The German national team has not been impressive in recent years. At the last two World Cups – in 2018 and 2022 – the Bundestim failed to overcome the group stage. At Euro 2020, Germany stopped in the 1/8 finals, losing to the future offender of Ukraine – England. But nevertheless, in terms of composition and status, the German national team remains one of the strongest teams in Europe.
For Ukraine, the upcoming match is a test of the principles of Sergei Rebrov. Of course, given the short time the specialist has been at the helm of the national team, it is difficult to count on cardinal changes. However, we think we will see some innovations. Do not discount the desire of the Germans to celebrate a truly outstanding anniversary with a victory. Plus, Germany will play on its own field and in front of its spectators. It is not surprising that the probability “Germany will not lose or win by one goal” bookmakers estimate as 1×2.31. And the probability of the option “German victory with -1.5 handicap” as 1×1.97.
