“Yellow-blue” in the first game under the leadership of Sergei Rebrov did not keep the advantage of two goals.
On Monday, June 12, a friendly match between the national teams of Germany and Ukraine took place at the Weserstadion in Bremen.
This meeting was the thousandth in the history of the German team, as well as the first for our team under the leadership of Sergei Rebrov. In this regard, the “yellow-blues” can spoil the holiday of their opponent, while mentioning the debut of the coach.
It is worth noting that this is almost exactly what happened. At least everything is as close to it as possible.
However, the game started badly for Ukraine. In the sixth minute, the Germans took the lead after Niklas Fullkrug hit Marius Wolf’s shot from outside the penalty area.

Fortunately, Rebrov’s wards managed not only to quickly recover, but even to take the lead. Alexander Tymchik after a throw from Ilya Zabarny made a pass to Viktor Tsygankov, who shot into the far corner with a dysfunctional right foot.
First, the referee recorded an offside position on the Girona player, but after a hint from the referee to VAR, the goal of the Ukrainian still counted.

And just four minutes later, our team surprised the entire Bremen stadium, when Antonio Rüdiger sent the ball into his own net after a hit by Mikhail Mudrik (the ball flew into the left post).

With this development of events, the Ukrainians felt confident enough, which cannot be said about the home team, whose situation worsened at the beginning of the second half.
Artem Dovbik pressed Matias Ginter, stripped the ball from him and rolled it to Tsyhankov, who extended Ukraine’s advantage to two goals by tapping into the empty net.

After several substitutions, the German national team became more active, which allowed to win a ball again. Rudiger threw the ball to Kai Havertz, and the Chelsea player, helping himself to his hands, prevented Nikolai Matvienko from making a tackle.
Shakhtar’s centre-backs stopped with arms outstretched, as Havertz calmly beat Anatoly Trubin.

And in stoppage time, Germany restored parity. Eduard Sobol brought down Havertz in his own penalty area, where the referee awarded an 11-meter penalty.
Although Trubin guessed the direction of the ball’s flight, Joshua Kimmich’s shot was too accurate.

As a result, the teams finished the match 3:3 – just like twelve years ago in the rebuilt NSC Olimpiyskiy. And as it was, Ukraine could not keep the score 3:1 in its favor.
