The coach of the Ukrainian national team is pleased with the result
Head coach Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov was satisfied with the performance of his team in the control match with the national team Germany (3:3).
“Ask yourself if it’s a success to play 3-3 with Germany… It’s an unofficial game, so I think we created enough chances and could have scored more.”
“The absence of Buyalsky, Rusin, Kochergin? We tried to create competition for every position. These players dropped out of the application, but I have no questions about the training process. It was necessary to decide. I am sure that they understand everything, and they will prepare for the official matches.”
“A few substitutions were planned, but at the end we left two substitutions when we looked at the situation on the field. Mikolenko felt some discomfort in his knee.”
“I am grateful to the players and fans who came to the stadium, felt their support, heard how they supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This game is very important for Ukraine, to show support for Germany in the war against the aggressor. We are very grateful to them.”
“Yes, for me personally this is a very important match. He is the first and I am glad that the guys took the game seriously and showed a good result.”
Rebrov’s wards were the first to concede, but scored three goals in response. Viktor Tsygankov scored a double, Antonio Rüdiger scored another own goal. The German national team managed to recoup, thanks to the goals of Kai Havretz and Joshua Kimmich from the penalty spot.
The team of Sergei Rebrov will play the next match with the national team of North Macedonia in the qualification for the European Championship 2024. The meeting will take place in Skopje on 16 June.
