“We are in a difficult financial situation. Now Barcelona are like a Formula 1 car without petrol and with a seized engine. We still managed to start the car, but it did not start. We have to work to restore the economy of the club.. We will have funds again, we will pay off debts in a reasonable way and we will be competitive again,” the official said.
Laporta has previously said the club need to cut their wage bill by 160 million euros in order to meet the demands of football’s governing bodies.
